Candidate data

Depending on the applicable local laws and requirements, we may collect some or all of the information listed below as this enables us to offer you the most appropriate employment opportunities tailored to your needs. If certain jurisdictions do not allow us to process some of the data outlined below, we will comply.

How does Hanson Regan collect your personal data?

  1. Personal data you as the candidate allow us to process on your behalf; and
  2. Personal data that we receive from other sources.

Hanson Regan needs to know certain information in order to provide the precise, tailored service that we promise. It enables us to provide the best opportunities and should save you time when searching through jobs and services that are not relevant to you.

There are numerous ways you can share your information with us here at Hanson Regan, all depending on what suits you.

These ways may include:

  • Entering your details on the Hanson Regan website or via an application form;
  • Leaving a hard copy CV with us whether that is through a job event/fair or at our office; or
  • Emailing your CV to a consultant or being interviewed by them, allowing them to gather your data.

By entering your details through any of the methods above, you agree for Hanson Regan to process your personal data for the methods of recruitment, if you do not wish for us to be able to process your personal data, please do not submit this information to us.

Personal data we receive from other sources.

We also receive personal data about Candidates from other sources. Depending on applicable local laws and requirements, these may include personal data received in the following situations:

  • Our clients may share personal information about you with us;
  • We may obtain personal information about you via third party sources, such as LinkedIn and other job sites, when searching for potential candidates; or
  • If you interact with our Social Media Channels, for example, ‘liking’ our page on Facebook or ‘following’ us on Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn, we will receive your personal information through those sites.

Why does Hanson Regan collect your data and how is it used?

Once obtaining information about you, we then use it in a number of ways.

Candidate Data

Data is generally used in recruitment activities and marketing activities. Our website collects data about visits to the site in order to optimize our site, as well as to promote security by checking for unusual activity, hacking attempts and other potential threats.

The data that is collected also facilitates internal operations such as troubleshooting, data analytics, and research and testing. Data about visits to the site are generally anonymous or pseudonymous.

Information collected for technical purposes may include which pages you have visited (including the date and time), which services and pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, files downloaded, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from a page, and other metrics related to your visit to our site.

Recruitment Activities

Our main area of work is precise recruitment – connecting the right Candidates with the right jobs. Below we have listed many ways in which your personal data may be used and processed for this purpose, where appropriate and in accordance with any local laws and obligations.

  • Storing your details (and updating them when necessary) on our database to enable us to contact you in relation to recruitment;
  • Providing you with our recruitment services and to facilitate the recruitment process;
  • Assessing precise data about you against vacancies that we think may be suitable for you;
  • Sending your information to clients, in order to apply for jobs or assess your eligibility for employment (please note, we will not present you for any job roles without having obtained you permission to do so first);
  • Carrying out our obligations arising from any contracts we have between us; and
  • Carrying out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between Hanson Regan and third parties in relation to your recruitment;
  • Facilitating our payroll and invoicing process.

Marketing Activities

We may periodically send you information that we think you may find interesting, or to ask you for help when connecting with other Candidates with jobs. In particular we may wish to use this information for the reasons listed below, where in accordance with any local laws and obligations.

  • Market our full range of recruitment services (permanent, temporary, contract and outplacement) to you;
  • Send you details of reports promotions, offers, networking and client events, ad general information about the industry sectors which we think might be of interest to you; and
  • Perform analytics – such as trends, sales intelligence, marketing effectiveness (such as click and open rates) uptake and progress.

Supplier Data

We will only use your information:

  • To store (and update when necessary) your details on our database, so that we can contact you in relation to our agreements;
  • To offer service to you or to obtain support and service from you;
  • To perform any legal obligations; and
  • To help us target appropriate marketing campaigns.

Your data protection rights

  • Your right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances; and

Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR is relevant here as it says that we can process your data where it “is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by [us] or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights or freedoms of [you] which require protection of personal data”.
